Also known as chaste berry, agnus castus is an aromatic shrub which has been used for centuries to manage hormone balance. Sometimes called the ‘female herb’ it has proved very effective when fed to mares during their season. While mainly associated with mares, agnus castus has also been used to maintain hormonal equilibrium in highly-strung stallions as well.

Agnus Castus is effective for both male and female horses for the following reasons:

Mares in particular experience a change prior to or during a season which can cause irritability, aggressionand make activities such as riding or showing difficult.
